Trump seemingly invents new name for Republican party and you’d never guess what it is

Trump also teased the idea of him running for president in 2028

President Donald Trump seems to have suggested a new name for the Republican Party, after teasing the possibility of him running for president again in 2028.

The US Constitution’s 22nd Amendment clearly states that no president can be elected more than twice, and Trump is currently on his second term after first being elected president back in 2016.

On Saturday, Trump shared what appeared to be an AI-generated image of himself on Truth Social. The picture showed him holding up a sign that read: “TRUMP 2028, YES!”

Trump has previously spoken about whether it would be possible for him to run as president for a third time.

In October, he told reporters on Air Force One: “Based on what I read, I guess I’m not allowed to run,” before adding cryptically: “So we’ll see what happens.”

Speaking with CNBC back in August, Trump was asked if he plans on another presidential bid, to which he responded: “No, probably not, probably not. I’d like to… I have the best poll numbers I’ve ever had.”

The president added: “You know why. Because people love the tariffs, and they love the trade deals, and they love that countries – they love that foreign countries aren’t ripping us off.

“For years, they ripped us. A friend, and foe and a friend. And the friends were worse.”

Trump also shared a nickname for Republicans, writing alongside the AI image: “TRUMPLICANS!”

Just days earlier, Trump had used a similar reference in a separate Truth Social post, writing: “There is a new word for a TRUMP REPUBLICAN, which is almost everyone (GREAT POLICY IS THE KEY!).

“It is, TEPUBLICAN??? Or, TPUBLICAN???”

Trump previously told MSNBC that despite requests, he thinks running for a third term would not be allowed.

“I have never had requests so strong as that. But it’s something to the best of my knowledge, you’re not allowed to do,” he said.

“There are many people selling the 2028 hat, but this is not something I’m looking to do. I’m looking to having four great years, and turn it over to somebody, ideally a great Republican.

“A great Republican to carry it forward. But I think we’re going to have four years, and four years is plenty of time to do something really spectacular.”

However, US Representative Andy Ogles has previously suggested changing the law to allow for three terms, instead of two.

Despite this, Trump has revealed who he would like to see as his ideal successor.

Vice President JD Vance was immediately mentioned during a chat with CNBC – someone Trump seemed to back.

“In all fairness, he’s the vice president,” Trump said. “And he would be probably favoured at this point.”

If, in a digital world, you crave a more analogue life and miss the days of handwritten notes and scrawling down every thought in a notebook, you’ll love this.

The digital notepad is paper-thin and light with an 11.8-inch e-ink screen.

That doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the quality though, as despite measuring in at just 5.1mm thick (that’s teeny-tiny) the screen can display 20,000 colors.

It’s even been to space! Astronaut Jannicke Mikkelsen took one of these nifty gadgets into orbit to write notes on.

She used it to track aurora forecasts, and said it was essential for her mission-critical tasks. If it can handle that, it can definitely handle your shopping lists.

They’ve managed to mimic the same sensation you get of putting pen-to-paper, too, so you can write reams of notes without using up half a tree in the process.

Whether you’re a doodler who likes to jot things down while talking on the phone, or an avid list maker, you’ll want one of these tablets.

Imagine the satisfaction of actually drawing a line through a to-do list item again instead of just deleting it.

There’s no pop-ups or notifications to distract you, either, enabling pure focus. The anti-glare screen will stop you from squinting in bright light, too.

How Trump suffered worst 10 days of his presidency after ‘atrocious’ new polls revealed

An expert has said there’s one issue that’s driving Trump’s poor performance

Kit Roberts

Donald Trump has seen opinion polls plummet to a new low after the president suffered an appalling 10 days.

Things have not been going well for Trump lately if the new opinion polls are to be believed.

The president has seen a series of setbacks, including the resignation of long-time supporter Marjorie Taylor-Greene, an ongoing scandal over calling a female journalist ‘piggy’, another record-breaking government shutdown on his watch, and ongoing economic anxiety.

And of course the grim spectre of the Epstein files is casting an increasingly long shadow over Trump’s second stint in the White House as the president’s association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein is placed under growing scrutiny.

CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten has even gone so far as to describe the last 10 days as his ‘worst 10 day period’ so far during his second presidency.

Enten said: “This is probably the worst 10 day period for the president in the polls his entire second term. The numbers are just atrocious.”

He went on to draw attention to the fact even the best poll has Trump flagging by some 14 points – a poor prospect for any president with midterms bearing down fast.

“When your best poll has you still 14 points underwater, you know it’s truly bad and it’s as bad as 26 points underwater!” said Enten. “We’re talking about an average well, well underwater with the deep blue sea swimming with the fishes!”

Enten says there’s one key issue that’s disappointing voters: inflation and the cost of living.

When Trump was sworn in, opinion polls on this issue were at a steady plus three points.

But that has now fallen to some minus 34, with Enten describing it as ‘a 37 point move in the wrong, wrong direction’.

Why might Trump be polling poorly on inflation and the cost of living?

Economic concerns are a big feature, with Trump making big promises about making groceries cheaper on the campaign trail which have yet to materialize.

Instead, recently released data showed inflation rates steadily climbing since Trump announced largescale tariffs on Liberation Day (April 2), with increased costs being passed on to customers.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, inflation rates climbed from 2.3 percent in April to 2.7 percent in July, 2.9 percent in August and three percent in September.

From August to September, gas prices rose 4.1 percent. Meanwhile, food prices are up 3.1 percent year on year, while energy costs are up 2.8 percent, CNBC reports.

Enten predicted a poor showing for the Republicans in the midterms if Trump’s current numbers don’t improve.

“You can’t win with this! If this holds for next year’s midterm election, wave adios amigos, goodbye, see you later to that House Republican majority,” he said.

“And that Senate Republican majority? Very much in danger as well!”

Shocking new approval rates reveal what US really thinks of Trump after Epstein controversy

The president’s approval ratings have dropped

Liv Bridge

The latest approval ratings of the president reveal what Americans are really thinking amid the Epstein controversy.

President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have taken yet another nose dive according to a new poll, plummeting to the lowest ever since his return to power.

Earlier this month, research on 1,245 Americans between 27 and 30 October gave the POTUS an eye-watering 63 percent disapproval rating, almost close to his lowest score ever recorded by CNN which came in the aftermath of the Capitol Hill riot in January 2021.

Now, a Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted over four days up until Monday, suggests Americans are increasingly unhappy about the spiralling cost of living crisis and the stalling progress in the investigation on the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The results find his approval rating slumped to 38 percent, having fallen two percentage points since a Reuters/Ipsos poll in early November.

The poll surveyed 1,017 US adults across the country and has a margin of error of about percentage points.

Meanwhile, the new poll shows Trump’s approval rating among Republicans is even waning, down 82 percent from 86 earlier this month.

The insight comes as Trump’s Republican Party is beginning to show signs of weakness, the outlet reports, with the Republican-controlled House of Representatives passing a measure just on Tuesday (November 18) to force the release of the so-called Epstein files from the hands of the Justice Department.

Trump has appeared to oppose the decision for weeks now, even falling out with one of his strongest allies in Congress, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who insists his sudden public criticism of her comes after she pressed him on releasing the files.

However, though lawmakers could press ahead with releasing the files without his support, the White House has claimed Trump will sign the bill when it reaches his desk.

Still, the issue is clearly having an impact on voters, with just 20 percent of respondents, including 44 percent of Republicans, stating they approve how Trump has handled the Epstein case.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll also found 70 percent of those surveyed, including 87 percent of Democrats and 60 percent of Republicans, said they think the government is hiding information about Epstein’s alleged clients.

Yet Doug Heye, a Republican political strategist, says it’s ‘all about prices.’

“People are furious when they go out and spend money at the grocery store, and they can’t believe what they are spending.”

A little more than a quarter (26 percent) of Americans believe Trump is doing well at managing the cost of living, down from 29 percent earlier this month, while 65 percent of participants, including one in three Republicans, said they disapprove of Trump’s performance on tackling the issue.

Donald Trump reveals his favorite McDonald’s item and the one complaint he has about it in bizarre speech to company executives

He even made an ineligible sound effect when describing his go-to order

Liv Bridge

President Donald Trump made an uncomfortably strange sound effect when describing his favorite McDonald’s dish in a bizarre speech.

Americans have had a long love affair with the fast food franchise, ever since the inception of its Golden Arches, carhop drive-thrus and infamous affordable hamburger meals that burst onto the scene in the 1940s.

Likewise, the POTUS is a huge fan of the restaurant chain, even popping in for a shift in a Pennsylvania McDonald’s during the 2024 presidential campaign and once even serving mountains of meals to the Clemson Tigers football team when they visited the White House in 2019 to celebrate winning the championship.

Now, in a speech at the company’s Impact Summit in Washington DC on Monday (November 17), Trump dropped a rather weird speech about his love for the food, especially one dish.

“I like the fish,” he stated bluntly, referring to the Filet-O-Fish sandwich, before making an ineligible sound effect that words can’t describe.

“I like it,” he continued before giving bosses a tip on how to improve it further.

“You could do with a little more tartar sauce, though, please,” Trump urged.

“Seriously,” he continued while making a gesture of slapping more sauce on the bun. “I hate it when I say, ‘Do you have any tartar sauce?’

“You understand? Yes, he understands that,” Trump said, pointing at a member of the audience.

Trump’s adoration for the McDonald’s signature fish sandwich is no secret, as just last month Republican National Committee chair Joe Gruters dropped the insight about Trump’s go-to order during the campaign.

“He had hot fries waiting for him from McDonald’s … And then he had a Filet-O-Fish, a Quarter Pounder, and a Big Mac, and I think he combined two of them,” Gruters said.

Meanwhile, Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie’s book, Let Trump Be Trump, revealed the POTUS enjoyed a different combo back in 2016, made up of two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and a chocolate milkshake to wash it all down.

Elsewhere in the speech, Trump said he was ‘honored’ to attend the summit, declaring himself the ‘very first former McDonald’s fry cook ever to become president of the United States,’ in reference to his stint serving French fries in Pennsylvania last year.

“While other politicians fly around on campaign planes stocked with expensive catering, on Trump Force One, prior to ascending to Air Force One, which is quite a nice plane also, we served only McDonald’s almost every time,” he continued.

“And I even got Bobby Kennedy to eat a Big Mac,” he added in reference to his health secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., tasked with the Make America Healthy Again initiative.

“He told me he loved it,” Trump joked. “He didn’t want that publicized.”

The president then went on to champion his apparent efforts to relax regulations, boost business and cut various taxes for the industry as per his Big Beautiful Bill that passed Congress in July, stating: “No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on social security for our great seniors.”

He also claimed the cost of a Thanksgiving meal in Walmart was 25 percent cheaper than last year, though FactCheck.org found this was due to fewer grocery items from alternative food brands.

Trump also applauded McDonald’s for ‘recommitting to affordable options’ and for ‘slashing prices for your most popular items [and] bringing back Extra Value Meals’.

Yet McDonald’s chief executive Christopher Kempczinski told investors last week that the number of low-income families visiting restaurants dropped by double digits amid concerns that its ‘McValue menu’ are now too expensive.
